2027 Scholarships

For 2026, I was honored to award four full scholarships and more than thirty partial scholarships to a wonderful group of dedicated students excited to explore the history and artistry of traditional Victorian wirework hair flowers and wreaths. I am thrilled to offer these scholarships once again for 2027 to support a new group of sincere learners in keeping this rare and meaningful art form alive.

For 2027, I will once again offer two types of scholarships. These awards are meant to support sincere learners - those who feel drawn to the art form, who want to build skill and confidence, who are willing to invest the time and effort into the practice, experimentation, and refinement it requires, and who value the history and craftsmanship of Victorian hairwork.

This is not a competitive award. I am not looking for résumés or credentials; I am looking for curiosity, commitment, and heart. These scholarships are a way to make learning accessible and to encourage continued practice in this rare and endangered craft.

Emerging Practice Scholarship

The Emerging Practice Scholarship is for someone who has not yet taken a workshop with me but is ready to begin. It is open to anyone with a genuine interest in learning about the history and artistry of Victorian wirework, and who is willing to put in the time and practice that these traditional techniques require. I am willing to invest in you, if you are willing to invest in the work.

The recipient will receive full tuition for one online beginner-level workshop of their choice during the 2027 calendar year. The scholarship recipient will be responsible for providing their own tools and supplies.

Continuing Practice Scholarship

The Continuing Practice Scholarship is for a returning student who has already taken at least one of my workshops and wants to continue building their skills. It is intended for someone who wishes to strengthen their practice, refine their technique, or explore more advanced methods of wirework hairwork.

The recipient will receive full tuition for one online intermediate or advanced workshop of their choice during the 2027 calendar year, or, if they have already completed those workshops, they may choose a private session with me to work on their skills or a project of equivalent time (4 hours). The scholarship recipient will be responsible for providing their own tools and supplies.

Application Details

Applications for both scholarships will open Monday, November 2, 2026 - Monday, December 21, 2026, with recipients announced in early January 2027.

To apply, I ask that you send a short email introducing yourself and share what draws you to the art of Victorian wirework hair flowers and wreaths. You won’t need to justify financial need; I’ll trust that if you are applying, it is because an opportunity to learn this art form might otherwise be inaccessible or difficult for you to pursue. Your desire to learn is what matters most.

How Recipients Are Chosen

Recipients will be selected based on genuine interest, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning traditional wirework techniques. I will consider each email thoughtfully and choose the applicants whose goals and intentions align with the spirit of the scholarship. It is not a competition; it is about making space for students who are ready and excited to learn.

How to Apply (Please read carefully and follow the instructions. Applications that are incomplete or do not follow instructions will not be considered. If you have questions, feel free to email me and ask.)

Applying for either the Emerging Practice Scholarship or the Continuing Practice Scholarship is simple.
